Serana Angelista sees the afro comb as a symbol of self-acceptance, resistance, and 'reclaiming' oneself. This print, featuring four combs meeting each other, represents international solidarity against racist oppression. The visual language of the print originated from the visual research that Angelista conducted with an afro comb and a scanner. During the international Black Lives Matter protests against anti-Black racism in 2020, this research took its final form.
